FODCHUKMr. Ormie Fodchuk, age 72 years of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital-McKellar Site with his family at his side. Ormie worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway for 38 years. In his final years with C.P.R. he held the position of Keyman in the Perishable Department. Ormie's passion for life was his family and summer cottage at the lake. He dedicated many hours to his grandchildren telling vivid stories, making them laugh with his remarkable humour. Ormie was an inquisitive man who tinkered with many things to figure out how they worked. He would salvage all reusable parts for possible future repairs. Family and friends turned to him knowing he would listen to them and offer support. Ormie is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Ethel; children Ken, Shirley McKinnon (John), Diane Oakley (Dale), Jim (Cathy) and Linda Fodchuk; grandchildren; Jacqueline ad John Curtis McKinnon, Kyle and Amanda Fodchuk, Kaitlin, Kimberly and Michelle Oakley; sister Ann Clavet. He was predeceased by his father Alex, mother Tina, step-father Bill Toffan and brother Alex. Honouring Ormie's wishes, a private family funeral service was held at the Westfort Chapel.
