Forneri, Richard (Rick)
April 11th, 1967
January 26th, 2012
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a great guy, Richard (Rick) Forneri. Rick passed away suddenly on Thursday January 26th, 2012 at the age of 44 at home with his roommates, Gary and Kerry, and support staff by his side. Rick loved anything to do with airplanes, especially his job at the Flight Training School. Rick often talked fondly of the time he took an airplane to Toronto to see the Leafs play and to see the sights of Toronto. Rick loved living in Thunder Bay and knew the city like the back of his hand. Camping trips, Greyhound buses, music and most of all coffee were topics of conversation that Rick enjoyed the most. Rick was always the first to show concern for others, especially when someone he knew was ill or in the hospital, asking about them until he was reassured that they were well again. Rick was supported by Community Living Thunder Bay for 28 years and will be fondly remembered by his long-standing and dedicated support staff (past and present), Team Leaders and numerous friends. Rick often developed close relationships with his support staff and with their families as he genuinely
cared for those who cared for him. There were two things that meant the most to Rick; his relationships with those that he chose to be close to, and coffee. Rick was lucky enough to have plenty of both in his life. We will always treasure the laughs, smiles, wonderful memories and special moments we shared and experienced with Rick. Those who knew Rick, knew a generous, loyal, good-humoured friend. Those who didn't know him missed out on knowing a good man. Rest in peace Rick, you will be missed. Arrangements are in care of the Jenkens Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life for Rick Forneri to be held at Monty Parks Center on Saturday Feb. 4th at 11:00am. Light refreshments will be provided following the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2pm.
