Franchi, Teresa

Mrs. Teresa Franchi passed away quietly on December 29, 2002, with her family by her side, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born into the Belanger family on September 10, 1933 and grew up on 222 Cameron Street. The large house was always full of family, friends and pets. She met her husband (Harry) at the neighbourhood swimming pool, as he had been her swimming instructor. They married on August 29, 1954. Teresa began raising her family while running Terry's Convenient Store where again many memories were created. She spent her years making her house a good home as well, providing her children with a strong foundation and loving support. Teresa is survived by her sons Fred (Elizabeth) Franchi and Jeff Franchi, daughter Kory (Bruno) Morabito, grandchildren Lauren, Brenna, Michele and Paul and sister Jackie Daniels. Numerous other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her husband Harry, father John Belanger, mother Nellie (nee Shillito), sisters and brothers Marg, Clara, Arlene, Florence, Joe, Wilfred and Gertrude. Cremation has taken place and Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 02, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Gillen officiating. Services will be complete in the chapel. Interment will follow privately for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated.A tree will be planted in memory of Teresa Franchi in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
