Mrs. Beatrice Anne Galbraith passed away suddenly at her home on Friday, July 16, 2010 in her 79th year. Anne was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and moved to Thunder Bay as a young mother and wife where she lived the remainder of her life. She loved knitting, crossword puzzles and jig saw puzzles. In her earlier years she was involved in the Girl Guides as a leader and in the Polly Lake Camp program. She worked as a tree planter for many years with the MNR. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Anne is survived by her 6 children Don (Karin), Reg (Deb), Linda (Albert) Busby, John (Betty), David and Colin; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, all of which were her pride and joy. Anne is also survived by her brother Arthur Beamish of Victoria, British Columbia and her former husband Malcolm Galbraith of South Gillies. She was predeceased by her parents Russell and Emma Beamish; grandchildren Melissa and Matthew Busby and Samantha Galbraith; her dear friend Cathy Carriere and brother-in-law Colin Galbraith, all of Thunder Bay. A private funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010, the seventh anniversary of the death of her grandson Matthew Busby. The service will be officiated by Rev. Kevin Dibbley. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Anne Galbraith in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2011.
