Gibb, Isabelle

Isabelle Gibb age 84 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, died in St. Joseph's Hospice, on Tuesday, September 7, 2004. Born in Fort William, Isabelle was the daughter of the late James and Isabella Gibb. She was educated at Isabella school and Fort William Collegiate Institute. She moved to Toronto in 1951 to work for Presbyterian Publications. Prior to retirement in 1985, Isabelle was employed by the Ontario School Trustees' Council for 16 ? years. Isabelle moved back to Thunder Bay in 2002. She is survived by her sister Mrs. Dorothy Finson, niece Elizabeth (Johnston) O'Neill and her husband Donald P. O'Neill and their children Jamie and Alexandra in Calgary. Also surviving is long-time friend Mrs. Ruth Cowie of Scarborough. She was predeceased by her parents James and Isabella Gibb, sister Margaret Johnston and brothers-in-law Harcourt Johnston and Frederick Finson. Funeral services will be held on Monday September 13, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bert Vancook officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the St. Andrew's Church Memorial Fund or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.A tree will be planted in memory of Isabelle Gibb in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
