Godick, Bertha Eileen
Bertha Eileen Godick (nee Illson), age 62 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday, November 21, 2005. With her family by her side, Bertha left us to be with our Lord, Jesus. Bertha was a Christian Lady with strong beliefs. Bertha was a wonderful, kind, caring person. Her love and dedication to her family will be deeply missed. Bertha was born on August 13, 1943, the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth Illson. She grew up in Conmee Township and later married Allan Godick. Together they raised their two children, Allan (Chuck) and J.J. Bertha loved family vacations, playing bingo, fishing and going to Grand Portage Casino. She was also a very hard worker; she worked for many years for McDonald's Consolidated and as a mail carrier for Canada Post. Bertha will be lovingly remembered by her son Chuck, grandchildren, Breanne, Daylen and Reece, son J.J. and Jocelyn, granddaughter, Alexandra, sisters Norma, Shirley, June and Jenny, brothers Clarence, Robert and Edwin, brother-in-law, Bill Brennan, sisters-in-law Glenie, Rose, Darlene and Shirley and special Aunt Dinah. Numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends also survive. She was predeceased by her father, Arthur Illson, mother Elizabeth Illson, brother, John and sisters Louise and Phylis, nephew Rodney, mother and father-in-law Ann and Maurice Godick. Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held at the Evangel Church on Friday, November 25, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Gary Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel. A very special thank you to our Uncle Bill, the Godick's and the nurses at St. Joseph's Hospice and 4 North for all of your love and kindness. If you wish to remember, Bertha, please make a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society. A tree will be planted in memory of Bertha Godick in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
