It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George W. Graves, at the age of 80 years, on Friday, April 16, 2010, at home in Murillo, with his family by his side, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. George was born in Westfort on December 1, 1929. He worked at various jobs including Oliver Township, Deramanchuk Contracting and lastly, as a self employed mechanic. He enjoyed helping others building and repairing just about anything. If there was a job to be done George was always there to help. He is survived by Lauretta, his wife of 58 years, daughters Susan Hanton (Lloyd), Lorie Graves Buitenhuis (Brian Kusback), grandchildren Jason Buitenhuis (Teresa Brannan), Wendi Cameron (James), great grandchildren Caitlin, Jamie and Nathan Cameron, sister Doris Chepil (Arthur), sister-in-law Mary Veley and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Predeceased by parents George and Margaret and sister Agnes Graves, parents-in-law Cecil and Ina and brother-in-law Ivan Veley. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and interred in a private family service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family respectfully requests no flowers. A Luncheon Celebration of George’s life will be held for family and friends at the Murillo Town Hall Monday, April 26, 2010 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
