Hakala, Lily

Mrs. Lily Anna Hakala, age 90 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26th, 2002 in Versa Care Centre.Lily was born in Fort William on October 3rd, 1912 and was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay.She worked as a cook in the lumber camps and that is where she earned her nickname 'Cookie'. She enjoyed time spent in her home and with her friends and gardening. Lily will be lovingly remembered by relatives in Finland and her dear friends Genevieve and Vince Cernjul, John and Dixie Wardel all of Thunder Bay and their families.She was predeceased by her husband Eino in 1983, her parents Matt (1927) and Anna (1941) Anderson, and her brother in 1977.According to Lily's wishes cremation has taken place and a time of remembrance and reflection by her dear friends will take place later.
