Robert John 'Bob' Haley, passed away at North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, Monday, February 17, 2003. Robert Haley of North Bay, Ontario, formerly of Thunder Bay. Predeceased by his parents Florence Mae and Percy Haley. Bob is survived by his wife Molly. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Jessica Scott (Robin), of Toronto, his sons Rick Haley (Marj) of Ajax, Greg Haley (Terri) of Sudbury and Mark Haley (Karen) of Hamilton, and by his stepson Wallace Swetlikoff of Pelican Narrows, Saskatchewan. He will be lovingly missed by his grandchildren, Eric, Krista, Tarilyn, Mitchell and Alexander. Bob worked for many years in Thunder Bay, for 10 years at the River Lake and Husky Oil refinery which he helped unionize. He later worked as a pipefitter on the construction and then on the maintenance staff of Great Lakes Kraft Mill. Earlier, he worked for 4 years at Canada Car and 6 years at G.W. Orton's Plumbing & Heating in Thunder Bay. He was last employed for 14 years at Labour Canada in North Bay as a labour relations officer. He retired from this position in 1980. Bob enjoyed sports. In Thunder Bay, he coached Bob's Bombers hockey team and played broomball for Wesco before coaching the Great Lakes broomball team. He played on the refinery's baseball team for a few years. Bob was also on the Board of Directors for North Bay Tiger Cats for whom his sons Greg and Mark played football. He was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Visitation at the McGUNITY FUNERAL HOME, Wednesday from 2-4. Funeral service will be conducted in the Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Cremation at Forest Lawn Crematorium, Tower Drive. As expressions of sympathy, donations to his favourite charity N.E.O. Cancer would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.We will miss you, Dad!!!
