Heino, Irja

Miss. Irja Heino, a former resident of Alexander and N. McKellar Streets passed away at Hogarth Riverview Manor on Thursday, April 6th, 2006. She was born on March 21st, 1926, the daughter of the late John Peter and Heta Maria Heino. Irja attended Ogden Street School and later on helped raise her sister's two children Donald and Peter Grant. She is survived by her sisters Aili Arnett of Toronto, Helga Nowack of Scarborough, sister-in-law Angelina Heino and numerous nieces and nephews. Irja was predeceased by her parents, brothers; Emil, Reino and Waino, her sisters; Bertha Gordon, Hilda Grieve and Lily Grant, her in-laws; Hugh Grant, Norman Gordon, Ralph Grieve, Elmer Nowack, Doug Arnett and Garnet Heino, her nephew Ronald Grieve and niece Susan Gordon A funeral service for Miss. Heino will be held in the chapel of Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre on Monday, April 10th, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Visitation with family will begin at 10:30 a.m. until service time and during the reception. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery to follow the service and reception in Jenkens Reception Centre. Irja's family would appreciate memorial donations to Community Living of Thunder Bay or the Lutheran Community Care Centre.
