Hogan, Joan Gwendolyn Marie
Mrs. Joan Gwendolyn Marie Hogan, 83 years, of Red Rock, Ontario, formerly of Wawa, Ontario passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital, Nipigon, Ontario with her family by her side. Joan served for three years with the Canadian Women's Army Corp during World War II. She was an avid reader and enjoyed people. Predeceased by her parents - Mabel and Ambrose Martin, by her husband Hans Hogan, by her son James Hogan, by special friend Gilles Langevin, and by four siblings - Bennett and Ivan Martin, Glenda Haskell and Lita Godin; she is survived by four children - Tommy, Terry, Debbie and Kenny, by three siblings - Sharon (& Paul) Nyman of Red Rock, Lawrence (& Ruby) Martin of Nipigon and Sheila Hephner of Chilton, Wisconsin, by brothers and sisters-in-law - Claude Godin, Pat Haskell, Jim Hogan, Alma Trush and Margaret Martin. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Resting at the Elliott Funeral Home Ltd. , Nipigon where friends may call after 10 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2007. Funeral services for Joan Hogan will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Elliott Funeral Home Ltd. with Father M. McWatch officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Thunder Bay, Ontario. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or to the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital.
