Holomego, Ida

Mrs. Ida Holomego passed away at home, on the farm she loved, on February 17, 2010. Ida was born in Murillo to Harvey and Mary McNally, pioneers to Oliver Township, on March 11, 1926. Other than her early married life in Port Arthur, she was a lifelong resident of O'Connor and Oliver Townships. She was an inspiration through her strength and dedication to her family. Ida and Mike were married for over 63 years and raised six children. She is survived by her loving husband Mike, children Mary (Thunder Bay) and Scott (Kakabeka Falls) and is predeceased by sons Billy, Michael, Jimmy and John. She was a loving Grandmother to Christine (British Columbia) and Maggie (South Gillies). Ida is predeceased by her parents, mother and father-in- law (Alex and Caroline), brothers Jim and Sam, brothers-in-law Joe and Stan and sister-in-law Shirley. Ida is survived by sister Betty (Ron), sisters-in-law Lois, Elsie, Stella and Lyla. Special Aunt to Diane, Tom, Laurie, Stash and Rene and their spouses and families and several other nieces and nephews. Also survived by cousins Jack McNally (Donna), Faye Enders and others. The family would like to express a special thanks for the wonderful care provided by Dr. Heather McLean, nurse Paula Niitynen and home care staff Heather Atkinson, Lisa Mandel, Jenny Kotala, Katarina Kohanski and other Comcare staff and Linda Rossel from CCAC. Their support allowed Ida to fulfill here wishes to remain comfortable at home surrounded by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home with visitation for family and friends being held one hour prior to service time starting at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
