Hopkins, Michael

Michael Hopkins, age 52 years of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph’s Hospital on Wednesday December 22nd, 2010. Michael was born in Matheson, Ontario in 1958, but grew up in Thunder Bay. He had attended Ogden Public School and Northwood High School, after which he took a position with Lakehead Freightways (now Manatoulin Transport) where he remained until 2008. In his spare time Michael enjoyed watching baseball. Michael loved his family dearly and he will be sadly missed by his mother Martha, his sister Penny (George) Smith, brothers Don and Jim (Zandra), as well as his nieces and nephews George, Edward, Donald Jr., Jessie and Shannon. He was predeceased by his father Neil and his sister Laura Ridler. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. If friends so desire donations may be made to either the Shelter House or the Dew Drop Inn.
