Arthur (Art) Ilkka, resident of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully in hospital Wednesday April 18th, 2012 after a brief illness. He was active in bowling, horseshoes and was particularly avid fisherman who loved his cabin at “Bass”. He was an active member of the Canada Games Complex especially swimming in recent years. He had worked at the Port Arthur Shipbuilding Company for over 30 years until his retirement in 1989. Arthur is survived by his son David (Toronto). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Thunder Bay and Toronto. He is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth; sister, Helen Zulak; brother’s, Ernie and twin brother Arnold. A memorial gathering will take place at Blake Funeral Chapel Saturday April 21, at 11:30 am. Upstairs reception area. 200 South May Street, Thunder Bay. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

A tree will be planted in memory of Arthur Ilkka in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 9, 2013.
