Johnson, Denise

Mrs. Denise Ann Johnson (nee Lavoie), age 45 years, passed away peacefully in hospital after a short battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 with family by her side. Denise was born on August 9, 1962 in Port Arthur to Raymond and Joyce Lavoie (nee LeRossignol), where she attended Port Arthur Collegiate Institute (PACI). On June 18, 1983 she married Warren Harold Johnson at Our Lady of Loretto R.C. Church. Denise was the co-owner/operator of Johnson's Quality Fast Foods for 13 years until 2006 when, after the closure of the business, she took up work with George's Market in the bakery and deli. Denise loved outdoor activities, especially camping with the family; we have many fond memories of the summers spent at the KOA Kampgrounds. Denise also loved watching Nascar and never missed a race; more recently enjoying this pastime from her hospital bed. Of course, spending time with family and friends gave her the greatest joy in life. Denise is survived by her loving husband of 25 years Warren, her two daughters Amanda (Joe) and Kristie (Mike). Her parents Raymond and Joyce Lavoie, father-in-law Ted Johnson, sister Christine Raynard (Jamie) and brother Raymond Lavoie (Michelle) as well as nieces Holly, Jessica, Alicia and Ashley and nephew David, and countless in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by her sister Cheryl, mother-in-law Gloria Johnson, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. LeRossignol and Mrs. Margaret Lavoie and uncle Norman LeRossignol. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Denise Johnson will be held on Monday, June 16, 2008 at Corpus Christi R.C. Church with family and friends gathering for the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Should friends so desire, donations in place of flowers can be made in memory of Denise to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation at the TBRHSC.
