Johnson, John (J.J.)

It is with deep sadness that the family of John (J.J. ) Johnson, age 77 years, of 63 Carrie St. , announces his passing on June 10th, 2007, after a brief illness at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. John (J.J. ) was born on May 14th, 1930 in Melville, Saskatchewan. He moved to Red Rock in 1949 and eventually settled in Thunder Bay. John worked for the City of Thunder Bay for 25 years, retiring on June 30th, 1995. John is survived by his wife of 27 years Jeanne; sons Richard Johnson, Bruce (Jeanie) Johnson, daughter Terri-Lyn Johnson (Husband Michael Kivari); daughter Judy (Darren) Parker and son Jerry (Patty) Rentz, along with 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Gwen Johnson, both parents, two brothers and two sisters. As per John's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 15th, 2007 at 1:00p.m. in the St. Joseph's Heritage Chapel, 63 Carrie St. Interment to follow at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
