It is with great sadness that the family of David Johnston announce his sudden passing on Thursday February 9, 2012 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 71. David is survived by his wife Helen of 40 years; his children Julie Johnston, Shari (Ernie) Rollason and Andrew Johnston. Loving grandfather of Ashlie and Hayden Wolframe and Chanson and Alex Rollason; dear brother of Helen (Jim) Sherriff of Hamilton and brother-in-law of John Brenzovich. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces in Thunder Bay, Hamilton and Bobcaygeon, Ontario. David was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Lillian Johnston. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario and moved to Thunder Bay in 1975 with his wife and daughters where he worked as a welder for Great Lakes Paper, then with MTO and CT Mechanical. David enjoyed spending time working in his garage, welding, being in the yard, bird feeding and watching, hunting and fishing. A “come and go” visitation and reception for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at a later date.
