Mrs. Jacqueline (Jacky) Johnston, age 70 years, resident of 226 Pine Street, passed away in hospital on Wednesday, April 23, 2003. Jacky had been a secretary at Lakehead University in the Physical Plant Department until her retirement. Jacky kept active with painting classes, aquabics and her bridge club. She always made room at her dinner table for anyone dropping by at her home or cottage at Amethyst Harbour. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Jacky is survived by Peter, her husband of forty six years; children: Diane (Dale) Kauzlarick, Peter (Lynn), Lynne MacDougall, Janis (John) Ney, Glen; grandchildren: Ben, Adam and Jaclyn Kauzlarick, Jesse Johnston, Taija and Ryan MacDougall, Samantha Ibey; sisters: Arleen (Bob) Loney, Marilyn (Glen) Blanchard, Cheryl Borich; brothers: Ron (Peggy) Hurdon and Jim (Marg) Hurdon. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Henry Dyer and Jean Hurdon and grandson Jordan MacDougall.According to Jacky's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, officiated by Rev. Randy Boyd of Trinity United Church. Visitation for family and friendswill be held one hour prior to time of Service. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Jacky's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
