Kashuba, Peter
Mr. Peter Kashuba, age 77 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, died in Hogarth-Westmount Hospital, on Tuesday, September 17, 2002. Peter was born and raised in Fort William and attended St. Peter's School. He served in the Canadian Army during World War II and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6. Peter retired from the Custodial staff of the Lakehead Board of Education in 1988. He was married to Sophie Karaim in Dauphin, Manitoba on November 10, 1945. He enjoyed carpentry work and working in the garden. Peter is survived by his wife Sophie, son Terry, sisters Olga (Paul) Chicoine and Phyllis (Jack) Bourke. Numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive. He was predeceased by his daughter Dorothy in 1972, parents John and Mary, brothers Billy and Paul and his sister Sophie Wally. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2002 leaving Blake Funeral Chapel at 9:30 a.m. for the Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. David Gillen. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Vigil Services will be offered on Friday September 20, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel.A tree will be planted in memory of Peter Kashuba in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
