Korol, Michael

Mr. Michael Anthony Korol, age 45 years, resident of Thunder Bay, died in TBRH Port Arthur Site on Friday July 4, 2003, with his family by his side. Michael was born and raised in Fort William and has spent his entire life here. He attended Green Acres, Westmount and Westgate Schools, followed by Sault College. He worked for the Great Lakes Paper Company, Lakehead Board of Education and for the past 10 years was the greens keeper at Strathcona Golf Course. Michael was a member of CUPE Local 87. He enjoyed playing Chess and Scrabble and he especially enjoyed fishing with his father. Michael is survived by his parents Irene and Tony, sisters Susan (Claude Jacques) Thunder Bay, Diane Moore (Daryl) and their children Bryce and Brianne of Windsor (presently here). Aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives also survive, and lifelong friend Michael Dillon and his wife and family. He was predeceased by his grandparents Peter and Leda Charette, Tony Korol and Annie Goudin, cousin Bill Hladysh. Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 8, 2003 at 1:30p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel with Rev. Canon John Jordan officiating. Services will be complete in the chapel. If friends desire memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or Charity of your choice would be appreciated.A tree will be planted in memory of Michael Korol in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
