It is with great sadness that the family of Annette Ann Kowtiash announce her sudden passing on April 10, 2011 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Annette was born in Gull Bay, Ontario on April 27, 1942 to Mary Jane and Dominic Wilson. Annette leaves to mourn her husband of 49 years Morris, their children; Andrea (John), Dominic, Christopher (Ophelia), Holly (Leon), Pierre, Emily (Randolph) and Shaun (Tenille), 23 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Annette will be missed by her siblings Andrew (Joanne), Francis (Sharon), Antoinette, Ida (James), Ina, Edna, Cora and Dinah and sister-in-law Donna. She was predeceased by her parents Mary Jane and Dominic, Wilson brothers Steve (Helen), Daniel, Victor, sisters Florence (Albert), Amelia (Albert), Veronica (Peter), Angela (Allan), brothers-in-law Hector and Edgar. Annette's great joys were spending time in social activities including singing, dancing, karaoke and playing cards. She spent many years volunteering with the Sacred Heart Church in Gull Bay. Annette worked as an Ojibway Language teacher and held various jobs within the community. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 15th at the Kateri Church Centre, 451 Syndicate Avenue, North with Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. celebrated by Rev. Larry Kroker s.j. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Following the funeral mass and interment friends are invited back to the lower level of the Kateri Centre for refreshments. Removal will be made on Thursday to the family home where the family will receive friends Thursday afternoon. Arrangements entrusted to Sargent & Son Funeral Directors, 21 North Court Street.
