Kusznirow, Wasyl (Bill)

Mr. Wasyl (Bill) "Papa" Kusznirow, age 84 years, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 20, 2008. Papa was born on April 20, 1924 in Poland. He met Paulina in Germany where they were married. They had two daughters, Luba and Wanda. He immigrated to Canada in 1950, and was joined by Paulina and their daughters the following year. They settled in Port Arthur where Lydia was born. Papa was a resourceful man, he could make something out of nothing and could always be counted on as a friend and neighbour. He overcame many hardships and together with his faith in God and the support of his loving family he graduated from Swan River Bible College. He retired in 1989 and spent his time enjoying his grandchildren, great grandchildren and tinkering in the garage. Papa is survived by his loving wife Paulina; daughters Luba, Wanda (Pat) and Lydia (Robert); grandchildren Leanne (Gordon), Gary (Lisa) and Jennifer (David); great grandchildren Hiranya, Himani and Aengus. He is predeceased by his parents; sister Luba and son-in-law Jorn Mortensen. A celebration of the life of Mr. Bill "Papa" Kusznirow will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 27, 2008 in the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James with Pastor Alan Piper of Westfort Baptist Church officiating.
