Mrs. Magdalina ( Minnie) Maclam (nee Krawczuk), age 90 years, passed away peacefully in the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Thursday, October 1, 2009. Minnie was born in Pine River, Manitoba on August 23, 1919, moving to Port Arthur in 1944. She married Jim Maclam on June 16, 1951 and shared 58 wonderful years with her beloved husband. She was employed as a custodian with the Lakehead Board of Education from 1967 to 1984. A wonderful woman with a strong will, Minnie didn‘t lose very many arguments. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, needlepoint and was passionate about her roses. She and Jim loved their trips to Hinckley MN and the many hours they spent at the 55 Plus Centre. Minnie was a member of the Rebekah Lodge #106 I.O.O.F. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jim, nieces Margaret (Rod) Martin, Irene (Pat) Mazzuca, Beverley (Tom) Stubbings, Sharon Siuksteris, David Jarraway, Ian McDonald, sister Leona Krawczuk as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents George and Annie Krawczuk, 7 sisters and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sargent and Son Funeral Chapel, 21 North Court Street with Rev. Lloy Ivany presiding. A private interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to service time.
