Maki, Paul

Mr. Paul Maki, age 86 years, formerly of Murillo, passed away peacefully in Pioneer Ridge on Saturday, October 15th, 2005. 'Born in Oliver Township on August 18th, 1919. He had been a long time resident of Murillo. Paul was married June 24th, 1944 to Signe Laakso. He actively farmed and was involved in bush operations and owned and operated various types of heavy equipment and machinery. He was actively involved with the Kakabeka Legion, the Kakabeka Curling Club and was a past President of the Oliver Agricultural Society. Paul enjoyed fishing and hunting, being with his friends and helping them at every opportunity'Survived by his sister Mabel Tuominen and her children Gayle Tuominen, Ralph Tuominen (Wendy), Janet Elliot (Gil), nephews Ron Kunnas (Joan), Gary Kunnas (Marion), cousins Aune Rajala, Martha Davis (Bill), members of Signe's extended family the Laakso's, Niemi's and Tuttilla's families, and special friends Ken and Denise Carroll and their children. 'Predeceased by his loving wife Signe (June 7th, 1999), his parents Herman and Anna Maki, sister and brother in-law Irene and John Kunnas and brother in-law Ken Tuominen. 'Funeral Services for the late Mr. Paul Maki will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19th, 2005 in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma . Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL.
