McCORMICKMr. John "Jack" (Scotty) McCormick, age 79 years, a resident of 142 W. Brock Street passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 16th, 2001. He was born and raised in fort William and attended local schools. Scotty played junior and senior hockey. He served overseas in the Royal Canadian Air Force where he was one of Canada's youngest pilots at age 17. Upon discharge, he worked for Kraft Foods for over 30 years. Scotty was happiest enjoying the company of his family, at camp at Oliver Lake and watching sporting events. He was very proud of being a Westfort boy and was very well known in that community. Scotty is survived by his wife Rita McCormick (Otway), daughter Laura Jane Delski, sons Scott and Murray, grandchildren Dianna, Sean and Samantha, great granddaughter Chantelle. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, brothers Jimmy and Bill, sisters Jean and Betty. Scotty's final wish was to be cremated and have no service. The family will abide by his wishes. Scotty will be very sorely missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. A tree will be planted in memory of Mr. John McCormick in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
