Mrs. Molly Isobel McMillan, 58 years, of Red Rock, Ontario passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 at her residence. Molly taught for approximately twenty-eight years, most of which was at Red Rock Public School, before retiring in June of 2008. She was always very involved in the school's extra curricular events and was extremely proud of her work with the literacy and special education programs. Molly was a member of Red Rock United Church where she always helped with fund raising events including the Red Rock Folk Festival. Molly was her children's biggest fan as they curled and played hockey and she loved the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents - Robert and Elizabeth Harris of Terrace Bay, Ontario; she is survived by two children - Kerri (& Jeff) MacKay of Comax, British Columbia and Kris McMillan of Dryden, Ontario, by their father Robert McMillan of Thunder Bay, Ontario, by three grandchildren - Brooke MacKay and Abby and Jordan McMillan, by her brother Samuel (& Heather) Harris of Terrace Bay, Ontario and their son Ryan (& fiancee Shannon) of Port Dover, Ontario. Numerous other relatives also survive. According to Molly's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Molly McMillan, in the care of Elliott Funeral Home Ltd. , Nipigon, will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 11 A.M. at Red Rock United Church, Red Rock, Ontario with Pastor Roberta Beyer R. - D.L.M. officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Terrace Bay Cemetery at a later date. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
