McMillan, Noreen

1923 ~ 2010
With great sadness the family of Noreen Margaret McMillan announces her passing on November 22, 2010, at the age of 86, at TBRHSS, with her family at her side.

Noreen was born on December 10, 1923 in Indian Head Saskatchewan, where she lived until coming to Port Arthur in 1944 to attend Port Arthur General Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1946. She married Don McMillan May 26th, 1948. Her entire nursing career was at the Port Arthur General Hospital, mainly in pediatrics, where she retired in 1986.

Her main interests were her family and home, where she enjoyed cooking family dinners every Sunday for many years. For much of her retirement, Noreen was an extremely dedicated volunteer and tireless worker for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #5.

She was predeceased by her husband Don in 1978, her parents Jack and Margaret Creighton, brother Terrance Creighton and sister Audrey McRobbie.

Mom will be sadly missed by her son Doug McMillan, daughter Mary Jane Flank (Jon), grandchildren Christina Stone (Daniel) and Darryl (Josslyn)

A Memorial service will be held on Friday November 26, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Archdeacon Mark S. Conliffe presiding. A private family interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Arthritis Society or a charity of your choice.
