Meservia, Ernest (Tref)

Mr. Ernest (Tref) Meservia age 84 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Tref was born in Harstone, Ontario. He worked as an Equipment Spray Painter at M.T.O for 31 years. Since retirement, his passion had been his camp at Prelate Lake, where he spent many hours of time and enjoyment with his family and friends during all seasons of the year. Tref is survived by his wife of 63 years, Myrtle; his children Tim (Louise), Pat (Ron) Earl and Gayle (Brian) Alexander; grandchildren Mark (Dawn Ann) Earl, Jason Earl, Steven Meservia, Kelly (Myrl) Collins, Kristopher Meservia and Shannon Alexander; 8 great grandchildren; brothers Jim (Joyce), John (Joan), Terry (Eileen), Clarence (Muggs) and David (Carol); and sisters Dolly (Frank) Day and Diane Keast. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Margaret and his brothers Patrick, Richard, Henry and Angus. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Kent Gibbons officiating. Interment will follow in Stanley Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Ernest Meservia in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2011.
