Monty, Merle

Mrs. Merle Monty age 81 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 16, 2004, at the St. Joseph's Care Group with her family by her side. Merle was born on September 8,1923 in Galt Ont. , spending the rest of her life in Dryden and Thunder Bay. She spent most of her time looking after her family and friends. Merle's main interests were bingo, camping, gardening, dancing, and having coffee with her many friends when they dropped in. She is survived by her sons Wayne (Joyce), Gordon (Diana), Harvey (Carolyn), Raymond (Linda), and Kenny (Shirley), her daughter Myrtle (Reg) Wakewich, step children Henry (Norma) Everett, Gladys Pelletier, and Grace Wickman, step sister Mae Pollock, son-in-law Rick Schmidt, 31 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Predeceased by her first husband Ernest Monty, her second husband John Everett, her Mom Myrtle Van Sickle and Dad Walter Murray, daughter Deborah Schmidt, step son Robert (Lila),step sons-in-law Melvin Wickman, and Phillipe Pelletier, and sister Mildred Prouty. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Merle Monty will be held on Monday September 20, 2004 at 11:00 am in the Westfort Chapel 420 West Gore Street at James, with Rev. Jef Koenig officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday September 19, 2004 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
