Betty Gladys Muncaster Betty Gladys (nee McNabb) Muncaster age 85 passed away on January 3, 2009 At the Dryden Regional Health Centre with family at her side. Mom was born to Donald and Gladys McNabb on October 21, 1923 in Ignace, ON. Ignace was her home it was where she lived most of her life and was where she raised her three daughters. In her younger years working with her father operating the movie theatre was one of her most memorable job experiences. Other employment followed over the years the last being Canada Post where she was assistant post mistress from 1967 to 1973 in Ignace. She was president of the home & school association and spent four years on the school board. In 1992 along with Dot Defeo they were the co-founders of the Seniors Silver Tops Club, and she continued to be an active member for the past 18 years. And in the past few years "The Red Hat Ladies" had the honor of having Mom as a member. Many happy winter months were spent at their condo in Cape Canaveral, Florida with her husband and father until their passing. In 1992 Mom and Dot went to Mazatlan, Mexico for their first winter vacation together they continued to spend eleven more winters there making new friends and enjoyed every minute. Mom is survived by daughters, Cheryl (George) Manchulenko of Ignace, Gayle (Wayne) McCuaig of Sault Ste. Marie, and Terri Andrews of Vermilion Bay. Eight grandchildren Sherri-Dawn, John (Olena), Duane (Cordie), Bill (Franca), Coral (Derek), Kristen (Darrin), Rod (Shelley) and Brandi-Lyn (Tim). Sixteen Great grandchildren Brandon, Ashley, Stephen, Brett, Brody, Jonathan, Cole, Shayla, Hunter, Tristan, Jaidyn, Tainna, Christain, Lucas, Jersie and Ava. Brother Donald (Katy) McNabb of Gearldton. Special sister-in-law Marlene McNabb of Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Gladys 1975, grandson Curtis 1979, father Donald 1988, husband Allan 1990, son-in-law Ron 1997 and brother Gordon 2002. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday May 2, 2009 at the Emmanuel Anglican/United Church in Ignace with The Rev. Jeannie Bryan officiating. Interment of ashes to follow at the Ignace Cemetery. If friends so desire donations may be made to the DRHC CT Scan, Northern Cancer Research or the Heart & Stroke Foundation through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave. , Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
