Mrs. Audrey Murphy (nee Martin) aged 83 years, a resident of Bethammi Nursing Home, formerly of Heather Crescent, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2002. Audrey was born in Port Arthur and lived in Winnipeg and Brandon while husband Russell was in the Air Force. Returning to Fort William after the war she raised her family while working at Sears, Palm Dairies and Martin's Nurseryland. Audrey was an active member of St. Agnes Church prior to her illness. She loved to spend time with her grandson Kyler, entertain with friends, look after her garden, and winter in Florida each year with Murph. Audrey was predeceased by her husband Russell of 52 years in 1994, her parents Bill and Rose Martin, brother Bill Martin, and sister Lena Martin. Audrey will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Maureen, son Russell (Rosemary) and grandson Kyler, sister Eleanor (Les) Cannon, all of Thunder Bay, sister Irma (Bill) Warrack, Calgary, and sister-in-law Helen Martin, Thunder Bay, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the loving care given to our mother by the staff on the third floor at Bethammi in her last years. A memorial service will be held atSt. Anthony's Church, on Thursday, March 14, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations in memory of Audrey be made to Bethammi Nursing Home, the Canadian Diabetic Association, or aCharity of your Choice.
