Nichols, Jo Ann

It is with great sadness that the family of Jo Ann Lucille Nichols announces her passing on August 9, 2011 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, with family at her side.

Jo Ann was born on January 24, 1953 in Fort William, spending much of her youth growing up in Nipigon, Ontario. Jo Ann then began her journey of life embracing what the world had to offer. Jo Ann resided in many parts of Canada and the United States, with her final resting place to be where it first began 58 years ago. Jo Ann spent most of her life doing what she enjoyed most: caring for other people.

Jo Ann will be sadly missed by her husband, Alain Fabre; daughters Lorraine Knorr (Wayne) from Saskatchewan and Malissa Parkes (Troy) from Alberta; grandchildren Taylor, McKenzie, Ashlee and Shelby; mother Gladys; siblings Jim (Geneva), Conward (Maureen), Donald, Jean (Albert) Holder, Ronald (Ana), Lonnie (Viola) and Rick (Terri). Numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives also survive.

Jo Ann was predeceased by her son Lorne and her father Joseph.

Following cremation, Funeral Services for the late Ms. Jo Ann Nichols will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Lloyd Ivany. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the staff of the ICU at Thunder Bay Regional. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Jo Ann’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
