Opaski, Sarah

Mrs. Sarah Opaske, age 76 years, resident of Thunder Bay, died in St. Joseph's Care Group, Sunday January 7, 2001. Sarah was a lifetime resident of the city. She was a real homebody. She enjoyed caring for her family and looking after her home. She is survived by her sons, Bruce and Krys, Peter and Missy, Michael all of Thunder Bay, daughter Leona Oliver and Rod of Vancouver, grandchildren, Randy, Joey, Jamie, Sara, Tyler and Ashley, brothers, Roy, Jack, Jim and Frank Scavarelli, sisters Rosalie Agostino, Vera Hordy, Louise Sprovieri, special niece Sharon Wintermute, good friend Joyce Tucker and numerous other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Rose Scavarelli, her husband Peter and brothers Peter and Nels Scavarelli. Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 10, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dan Lapolla c.s. of St. Dominic's Church officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's cemetery. If friends desire memorials to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or the Lung Association would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Sarah Opaske the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 23, 2002.
