Parohl, Joan Frances
Mrs. Joan Frances Parohl, age 94 years a resident of 63 Carrie Street and formerly of Red Rock and Nipigon, passed away in St. Josephs Hospice on Saturday, July 3, 2010. Born in Port Arthur, Ontario on March 20, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and May Crittall. Joan resided in Red Rock from 1948 until 2000, moving to Nipigon and then Thunder Bay. She was a member of Red Rock United Church. Joan enjoyed times spent with family and friends at her camp at Polly Lake. Her other interests were hunting, fishing, gardening, sewing and painting. She will be lovingly remembered by nephews John (Mary) Moland, Bruce (Marilee) Moland and John Crittall, nieces Ella Mae Foley and Heather Vickers. Numerous great nieces and great nephews also survive as well as special friends Gail and Alan Hannula. She was predeceased by her husband Charles, her parents; Thomas and May Crittall, sisters Doris Moland and Ivy Dussault and brother George Crittall. A grave-side service will be held on Friday, July 9th when family and friends will gather at Riverside Cemetery, 800 Oliver Road for services beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Frank Moore presiding. As expressions of sympathy the family respectfully request memorials to the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital or to a charity of ones choice.
