Rajala, Helen

Mrs. Helen Rajala (nee Brygidyr) age 77 years of Ray Blvd. passed away after a lengthy illness at her home on Sunday, February 22, 2004. Born in St. Boniface, Manitoba she spent her early life in Winnipeg, moving to Dryden during her teenage years. She moved to Port Arthur with her parents in the early 40's. She met Ernie before he went to war and married him in 1946, and together they enjoyed 57 years of married life. Helen was generous of spirit, and channeled her creative gifts into her family, home and her masterpiece garden. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.Survived by her loving husband Ernie, son Glenn (Daryle), Lynda-Jenica Rajala, Wendy (Rick), grandchildren Amelia, Kai, Devin, Tyler, Keith, Nicole.Cremation has taken place, and according to Helen's wishes, there will be no service.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated.EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma in care of arrangements.Please sign the online condolences at everestofthunderbay.com
