Richtig, Matej

Matej (Mathias/Matt) RichtigMatej Richtig passed away on Sunday July 31st, 2005. He was born in Brno, Czechoslovakia on January 25th, 1923. He moved to Thunder Bay with his wife and three children in 1951, but visited his much loved homeland annually for many years. Matej was employed as a Business Executive with the Painters and Allied Trades Union from 1967 to 1988. He is survived by his wife, Elfriede, of 55 years and five children, Volker Lehmann (Gail), Monika Leishman (Jim), Peter Richtig (Richard), Peggy Kralka (Glen) and Brenda Richtig. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Papa will always be greatly loved and sadly missed. Private cremation will take place on August 2nd for immediate family only. We'd like to express a heartfelt thank-you to all staff on the 5th floor of Versa Care Centre for their diligence in duty, comfort and support. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Alzheimer's Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
