Ritchie, Linda

It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Ritchie, announces that Linda, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully, with her family by her side on Monday April 13, 2009 at TBRHSC. Born in Port Arthur on September 19, 1949, Linda was a lifelong Thunder Bay resident. Linda was employed for many decades in the hospitality industry, and was loved and respected by the many people whose lives she touched. Linda had a great passion for helping others, especially children, and will always be remembered as "Auntie Linda" by all of her family and friends. Left to mourn her are her spouse, James Atkins, her loving son Michael (Jenni), sisters Donna Halverson, Lenore Gaudreault (Marco), Leah Ritchie Dumas (Rick) nephew Jacob & niece Katarina all of Marathon Ont. & brother Kirk Ritchie and daughter Kelly of Brampton Ont, Linda is also survived by her nephews, Ralph Halverson (Mary) Tyler, Erika and Dayna, Kevin Halverson (Susan), Emily, Eric and Evan, Don Halverson (Janice), Brody of Red Deer Alta. She was predeceased by her parents Orville and Mary Ritchie; brother-in-law William Halverson and nephew Mark Halverson. Friends are invited to join the family on Saturday April 18, 2009 at 2:30 PM, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5, on 229 Van Norman St, to celebrate the life of this special lady. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Linda can be made to the Thunder Bay Humane Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
