Ross, Elizabeth (Libby) Mcinnis

Elizabeth Ross passed away at Grandview Lodge on November 3, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Elizabeth graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Joseph's Hospital in Port Arthur. She took further training at the Neurological Institute in Montreal, Quebec. Throughout her nursing career she practiced her profession on the SS Harmonic and SS Noronic as well as at St. Joseph's hospital, McKellar Hospital and with the Victoria Order of Nurses. Her finally nursing years were at Westmount Hospital. Elizabeth's life was filled with the enjoyment she received from time spent with her loving family and dear friends. She enjoyed her involvement with the members of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and treasured her visits with Rev. Burt Vancook. Her care and concern for others was always evident. Her vibrant personality and enthusiasm for living inspired us all. In the later years her health deteriorated and her cousins Andrea Gemmell and Cindy Kisken kindly invited her to live with them. They dedicated their lives to her and she spent many happy days at Hyde Park and Amethyst Beach. She will lovingly be remembered by her family: daughter Joanne (Walter) Kembel; grandson D.J. (Amy) Kembel and great granddaughters Olivia Kembel and Emily Kembel; Stepdaughter Julie (John) Stefiszyn; granddaughters Jodie LaFreniere and Twila Bennato; great grand children Calvin LaFreniere, Kate and Julieanna Bennato cousins Teddy Gemmell, Cindy Kisken , Shelley Crawford. Libby was blessed with numerous friends and extended family members who also survive her. Predeceased by her father Joseph Ross and her mother and step father Jack and Nettie Felker. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Bert Vancook officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elizabeth's name to the United Way of Thunder Bay, Tomorrow Fund. A tree will be planted in memory of Elizabeth Ross in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 27, 2010.
