Miss Alice Thelma Seaman, age 96, a life-long resident of Thunder Bay, passed away at Versa-Care Centre on March 4, 2010, having just celebrated her 96th birthday less than three weeks ago. Alice was born on February 12, 1914, in  Port Arthur, to Samuel and Alice Seaman, pioneer residents of the area.   She was the eighth in a family of eleven children.   After graduating from  P.A. Technical & Commercial High School (later Hillcrest High School), she worked for a number of years as a tailor at Russell Tailors.   During WWII she served in the R.C.A.F. as a parachute instructor, with the rank of Corporal. Following demobilization after WWII, Alice completed a hairdresser's course in Winnipeg, subsequently opening her own hairdressing shop in Port Arthur, called "Personality Beauty Clinic", which she operated for 16 years.   Later, she worked at Ines' Beauty Salon until her retirement. She is survived by her brother Earl Seaman of Calimesa, California as well as by numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and great great-nephews and nieces.   Before her final illness, she took great interest in her entire family, from oldest to youngest, and she was "Auntie Alice" to all. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers:  George, Robert, and W.A. (Bert) Seaman, three sisters:  Violet Rabb, Luella Nash and Laura Helen (Nell) Hall as well as by a brother and two sisters in infancy. Cremation has taken place, with interment to follow at a later date at Mountainview Cemetery.   Arrangements in care of the Sargent & Son Funeral Directors, 21 N. Court Street.
