Mr. Albert Melville (Bud) Sellers, age 72 years a longtime resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph's Care Group on Friday, September 13th, 2002 with his family by his side.Albert was a graduate of Fort William Collegiate Institute in 1950 and went on to receive his Bachelor Of Science Degree (Forestry) from the University of New Brunswick in 1955. Upon graduation, he was employed by Great Lakes Paper (Bowater) beginning his career in various bush camps, eventually leading to his promotion as Manager of Forestry (Woodlands Division) until his retirement in 1992.Albert was an avid reader and sports enthusiast, enjoying a game of golf whenever he could. He also studied theology with Father Savage, which he enjoyed immensely. As well, Albert enjoyed travelling to many parts of the world, including three trips to Hawaii with his wife.One of his greatest joys were his two grandchildren, who will miss him greatly, as well as all who knew him, friends and family alike.Albert is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 27 years, daughters Kim Boyechko (Kevin), Deborah Summers, grandchildren Ryan and Shayla, all of Thunder Bay, sister Mary-Lou Dalgleish of Nova Scotia, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.He was predeceased by his father Gordon, mother Monica, sister Joan Turnbull, son-in-law Bill Summers as well as by numerous aunts and uncles.Funeral services for Albert Sellers will be held on Wednesday, September 18th when family and friends will gather at Corpus Christi R.C. Church for Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. celebrated by Rev. P.M. Stilla, V.F.Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery.Friends may call at the Sargent & Son Chapel, 21 North Court Street, Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m.As expressions of sympathy the family respectfully requests memorials to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Lung Association or to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation.
