Mr. Kenneth Lee Simpson, age 68 years, of Gordon Avenue, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday, April 18, 2005.Born in Oak Lake, MB, Ken had worked at Eatons in Winnipeg when he was younger until he moved to Port Arthur in 1963. Once here, he had worked for Great Lakes Paper-Woodlands Division for twenty eight years, until 1991 when he was forced to retire due to a long term disability. In his spare time he enjoyed working with wood and leather as well as camping. Ken will be best remembered by his quick wit and sense of humour.Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jeannine; children: Dave (Michelle) Simpson, Diane (Lauren Daoust) Simpson; grandchildren: Robin, Sarah, Remi Jr. , Tanja; and great granddaughter Serena. Numerous other relatives also survive as well as his extended family who had given Ken a new spark to his life during the last ten years. He was predeceased by his parents John and Grace Simpson and his brother Calvin.Funeral Services for the late Kenneth Simpson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, officiated by Pastor Gary Wilson of the Evangel Church. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening (TONIGHT) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada - Northern Superior Chapter, or to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre - Renal Unit.
