Smith , Patricia C.
Heaven has a new angel!!!
Its with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Patricia C. Smith at the age of 79, on Saturday, September 15, 2012 with her family be her side at TBRHSC. Pat was born in Winnipeg on June 3, 1933. After completing her secretarial course in Fort William she moved to Hornepayne for her first job on the CNR. There she met the love of her life, Jim, to whom she was happily married for over 58 years. After taking time off to raise her children, she returned to work when the youngest was in school. She worked for the Public School Board of Education and then became the Administrator for the Hornepayne Public and High School Boards. In 1979 they transferred with their youngest son to Thunder Bay for Jims work on the CNR. While in Thunder Bay Pat worked at Olgivies until she retired. Pat took great pride in her family. From sewing costumes for figure skating to creating projects for the 1st of July parades, Pat was happiest when her family and friends were happy. She enjoyed sewing (all the wedding dresses for her daughter and daughters-in-law) knitting and embroidery. She spent many happy days at the camp at Cree Lake in Hornepayne and at Malcolms Landing (formerly Burstroms) at Shebandowan. Pat will be lovingly remembered by her soul mate and husband Jim, her children Ken (Judy) of Edmonton, Jan Law (Ron) and Dean (Christine). Cherished grandmother of 10 precious grandchildren and GG to 8 precious great-grandchildren, sister Ida Vailliant of Edmonton, sisters-in-law Margaret Waltho and Carole Smith and brother-in-law Bill Smith all of Toronto. Predeceased by her mother Marguerite and father Albert Asselin, sister Bernice Bushby, brothers-in-law Victor Vailliant and Andrew Bushby and Donald Smith, and nephew James Bushby.
