The Stokes family sorrowfully announces the passing of Muriel Gilbert Stokes - nee Taylor. Muriel was born in Sturgeon Falls Ontario. The 11th of September 1938. She attended Teachers College in North Bay and started a long and rewarding career in teaching. Muriel had a full and good life and will be missed by all who knew and worked with her in the education system and the Tai Chi groups she practiced with. Muriel passed away on the 19th of May 2008 and is survived by her husband Roy, her daughter Gillian, her son Dale and her granddaughter Ellie. Muriel is also survived by her three brothers, Bob Taylor from Halifax, Jerry Taylor from British Columbia and Gib Taylor from Thunder Bay. Muriel's immediate family and closest friends would like to invite her many friends to an informal ceremony to celebrate the 70 years of her wonderful giving life. This life celebration ceremony will be held on Friday May 23, 2008 at the Oliver Road Community Centre, 563 Oliver Road between 2:00 & 4:00 pm. We would like to invite guests to share a poem or story of one of their memorable encounters with Muriel. You may make an oral presentation or the ceremony facilitator will be happy to read your submission on your behalf if you provide a written copy. We all loved Muriel very much, and hope to see you there. Donations in Muriel's name can be made to the Cancer Society if one wishes.
