Tacak, Frank
Mr. Frank Tacak, age 71 years, of Velva Avenue, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Wednesday, November 9, 2005. 'Born in Port Arthur in 1934, Frank grew up and lived in the city all of his life. He had attended The Port Arthur Technical and Commercial High School (Hillcrest High School), and later began working for the Canadian Steamship Lines as an Oiler until 1967 when he began his career with the Canadian Grain Commission as a Weighman, retiring in the mid 90's. Frank's home and family were his main interests in life, enjoying family BBQ's on the patio. He also enjoyed hockey, watching war shows and the weather channel on T.V. , and especially enjoyed traveling. 'Frank will be sadly missed by his wife of 32 years, Darlene; sons: Mike (Elyse) of Thunder Bay, Frank Jr. of Cocquitlam, BC, and Jeff (Cheryle) of Burnaby, BC, all of whom considered dad to be their best friend; sisters: Mary of Thunder Bay, Sophia of London, ON; sisters-in-law: Linda Reid, and Brenda Moores. Several nieces and other relatives also survive. Frank was predeceased by his parents Mary and John; and one brother, Peter. 'Funeral Services for the late Frank Tacak will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14th, 2005, in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, officiated by Rev. Ed Long. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the time of Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada-Thunder Bay Chapter, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
