Thomson, Joan Boyd (Gibb)

Joan Boyd Thomson (Gibb) passed away peacefully at Foothills Hospital, Calgary, on October 6. She will be lovingly remembered by Allan her husband of 67 years, her children, Bob (Heather) of Ottawa, David (Christine), Maureen (Rick) and Nancy (Alan), all of Calgary. Nonie's life was enriched by her nine grandchildren, Kim, Boyd, Jason, Brendan, Pam, Meghan, Erin, Candace and Tracey, and her great grandson, Benjamin. She will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews, and long time family friends, especially Georgie Holt and Dorothy Walton. Joan was born in Winnipeg on March 4, 1920. She and Allan were faithful members of the United Church in Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Moose Jaw, Shebandowan and Calgary. Nonie loved the great outdoors, especially pickerel fishing at their cottage/home on Lake Shebandowan, where they spent their retirement before moving to Calgary.
