Thurston Mr. Joseph Wayne "Rebel" Thurston age 69 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away at his residence on Monday, January 1, 2007. Born, raised and educated in Toronto, Wayne spent most of his working life driving transports. Wayne's family would describe his life as full, interesting and varied. He had a passion for motorcycles and the outdoors. Wayne was loved and will be missed by many family and friends. Wayne is survived by his sons, Jeff (Liz) and Joel (Laura), daughter-in-law, Carol Thurston and families, brother, Rae (Sarah), stepchildren, Leslie Bannon, Fabian (Tanis) Bannon, Jackie Wyer, Byron Bannon, Gale Bannon and families, lifelong friends, "Corky" Murray, Tim Ward, Aaron Pervais, Jamie Pervais, the K & A crew, Myles Pervais and many of his Toronto friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Christie Pervais, son, John and parents Joseph and Muriel Thurston. As per Wayne's request, cremation has taken place and a family gathering will take place on Thursday, January 4, 2007, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Family Home, 780 Squaw Bay Road on the Fort William First Nation. If friends desire, memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Wayne Thurston in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
