Turner, Reita

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Miss Reita Turner on Friday, January 2, 2009. Born in Winnipeg she resided in Thunder Bay for most of her 93 years. Reita worked at Wilmont and Siddals Grocery for many years as a bookkeeper and clerk. She devoted her life to caring for her parents Grace and Frederick. She spent many happy hours tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens at her home on Farrand Street. At the age of 89 she moved into Pioneer Ridge where she resided until her death. Reita is survived by nieces and nephews Christine Leibold (George), Mary Lynn Turner Blady (Stan), Linda Schutte (Richard), Ian Turner (Ella), William Niemi (Marjorie). She was predeceased by her father Frederick, mother Grace, brother Robert, sister Iva Niemi (William). At Reita's request cremation has taken place with a private interment to follow. A special thank you to all the staff of Pioneer Ridge Plaza 3 for all their care and compassion during her years spent there.
