WILLIAMSMr. John F. (Jack) Williams, age 83 years, of Brookside Manor passed away in Thunder Bay Regional Hospital (P.A. ) Site on October 24, 2001 following a brief illness. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he had resided in Thunder Bay for the past 30 years. Jack graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in 1941. He served with the Royal Navy in World War II and was a member of the Naval Officiers Association of Canada. He was employed by Abitibi Pulp and Paper Co. for 43 years in various locations. He was a Member of the Professional Engineers Association of Ontario and Manitoba. Jack was an avid Skier, Curler and a Member of the Model Aircraft Club. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years Sylvia Bert, daughter Lorl (Bob) Roper, Iroquois Falls (here), son John (Heather) Thunder Bay, Grandchildren: Trevor Roper, London, Ontario, Graeme and Leigh Roper, Iroquois Falls, John and Keith Williams, Thunder Bay, Sisters; Beth Clark and Ruth Matheson, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his son Andrew and brother Dr. David Carlton Williams. Funeral Services for Jack Williams will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2001, when family and friends will gather at St. Paul's United Church(Waverley Street) at 2:00 P.M. ,conducted by Rev. Dave Eskdale. All Services complete in the Church, with private interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Thunder Bay Naval Association will hold a Service of Tribute in conjunction with the Funeral Service.
