Mar. 2nd, 1921-Aug. 1st, 2000Reginald Willaimson, age 79, of 590 Beverly St. passed away on Tuesday, August 1st, 2000 at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital-McKellar Site following a lengthy illness. Born in Langford, Manitoba on March 2nd, 1921, Rex served with the Manitoba Dragons in Belgium during the Second World War. He studied Engineering at the University of Manitoba and upon completing his degree, worked briefly with Ducks Unlimited prior to moving to Thunder Bay in 1951 to work for C.D. Howe. Ltd. Retiring in 1984, Rex was able to indulge his passion for golf on a year-round basis by wintering in Mesa, Arizona. His other passions included his family and bridge. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Colleen Williamson; five children, Sandra (Steve Turton), Moria McIntyre, Donna (Darryl Norman), John Willaimson (Fran), Laura (Denis Lalonde); grandchildren, Leigh and Jackie; Craig; Kimberly and Emily; Joe, Steve, Candice and Frank; Rory; sister Elsa (Pat Hamp), brother and sister-in-law Bus and Muriel Stewart, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Reg and Ada Williamson and brother Harvey Williamson. Memorial Funeral Services for Mr. Williamson will be held in the Chapel of Jenkens Funeral Home 226 S. Syndicate Ave. on Friday, Agusut 4th, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jennifer Urynhiw officiating. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
