FIRST off, thank you to the Thunder Bay Police and everyone involved who managed to bring the two people accused of being responsible for the threats made against Hammarskjold High School into custody. What I dont understand is why these two are not facing more potential consequence than just a slap on the wrist.

Charges that were filed against these two include a total of seven counts of public mischief, reporting an offence and seven counts of mischief interference with lawful use of property.

The threats to the school or schools involved ranged from bomb threats, suspicious packages and planned school shootings. Maybe I am wrong, but is that not considered terrorism?

Considering the stress and fear and harm it put on students who didn’t want their school year disrupted, plus the fact that the cost to the taxpayers of Thunder Bay was probably enormous, these two accused should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Giving them both a slap on the wrist, no matter their age, is wrong.

When is the judicial system going to say enough is enough and start making examples of people who commit crimes like this?
